Water Walking Esterel WWE
Longe côte practice at 3 levels: Zen, Tonic, Sport and Competition. Participation in the French Longe côte Championships.
Known as "sea wading" in English, this is a nautical discipline that consists of walking in the sea wearing adapted equipment , such as webbed gloves and a paddle, with an immersion level between the navel and the chest.
The technique highlights the combined advantages of a sport suitable for all and the various benefits of the marine environment, including improved immune defences.
Muscular strengthening: Practising in an aqueous environment allows you to work in a weightless setting, thereby relieving weight-related joint constraints, particularly in the lumbar region and the lower limbs.
Blood circulation: the practice requires the flexible movement of the legs (since they are weightless) from toe to heel to propel the body, encouraging venous return and leaving the legs feeling lighter after the session. The upper body is used to balance the body in the water, with arms for traction and propulsion.
Sense of balance: due to current. Working on coordination between the upper and lower limbs, and lateralisation, stimulates motor and sensory brain activity.
