Randonnée : Le Rastel d'Agay depuis le Plateau d'Anthéor
This hike takes you to the summit of Rastel, with its incredible views over the Bay of Agay.
> DIRECTIONS
By car via Agay:
Driving directions: Take the coastal road toward Agay; when you reach the Agay roundabout, follow the signs for “Massif de l’Estérel.” Go under the small railroad bridge, pass the industrial park, and immediately after that, turn right onto the small road marked “Massif de l’Estérel.”
Pass the Gratadis forest ranger station, then turn right onto the “H32 Cap Roux” road. At the next intersection, turn right toward “Rocher Saint-Barthélemy, Plateau d’Anthéor,” staying on the H32 for 1.7 km. Look for the small parking area on the right and the H323 “Rastel” trail. Park your vehicle. You can also park 600 meters further on at the Plateau d’Anthéor and walk back to the trailhead.
(Be sure to leave the area in front of the barriers clear for fire trucks.)

Rastel Trail
> ROUTE
After the gate, follow the trail for 1.2 km. The trail overlooks the magnificent landscapes of the Estérel, the sea, the Anthéor Viaduct, and—behind you—the iconic peaks of Cap Roux.
You’ll arrive at the intersection by the Saint Honorat Oratory; turn right in front of the oratory, then immediately leave the trail and take a small path on your left.
The path climbs steadily through the forest for 700 m before beginning a steeper ascent in switchbacks. You’ll reach a small rocky plateau; turn left, and the trail continues to climb toward the Rastel ridge.
You’ll then reach the spectacular viewpoint at the Rastel d’Agay orientation table.
On your right, take a small rocky trail (the one on the right); it will take you in 10 minutes along the ridge to the Drapeau site (500m).
Return via the same route.
> Plan ahead: In the summer, during periods of extreme heat and strong mistral winds, the Massif may be closed due to fire risks. Check the “Practical Information” section for the daily status.
