Circuit découverte - Villas Belle Epoque à Valescure
This tour takes you along the Valescurois alleys to discover the beautiful homes that make up the district's identity.
A must-see!
Starting point for the Valescure historical trail, Square Mariani, with its famous fountain on the Rond-Point des Anglais.
Turn right around the square onto Avenue de l'île Verte, which begins at the corner with the magnificent Villa "La Moineaudière". It faces Villa "Les Grillons".
You then reach the flower-filled gateway to "La Demeure" and its small tower.
Continue right along Avenue de l'Île Verte to the dazzling "des Messugues" residence, the first villa built in Valescure in 1882. From this vantage point, you can also see the "Villa Marie" and its tower, which welcomed the Fitzgerald family in 1924.
At the end of the avenue, "La Lezardière" and its neighbor "Les Cigales" are flooded with greenery.
Turn left onto the main avenue as far as Villa "Le Maquis", and cross the road to reach Eglise de Tous les Saints.
Make a U-turn and turn left onto Bd du Suveret to return to Avenue des Mimosas.
Cross at the crosswalk.
On the other side of the street, you'll see the "Villa La Chêneraie". Walk down the avenue towards Jardin P. Fernez, laid out on the site of the former "Île Verte" villa.
On your left, the small "Villa Les Agaves" stands alongside the "Grand Hôtel des Anglais", testimony to the splendor and opulence of this Belle Epoque district.
You're back at Square Mariani.
