Valescure or Vallis Curans (Valley of Healing) well deserves its qualitative reputation. This area, came to Lord Ashcombs attention at the end of the last century, as he was impressed by the mild climate and the majestic umbrella pines and he built up on the heights of Saint-Raphal, the first golf course in the Var and the sixth to be created in France. Recently a new golf course was harmoniously added to the first, giving Valescure the title of « Quartier des Golfs »The typical image of Valescure is one of umbrella pines, a large well-kept estate, which is home to residences, private villas, prestige hotels and tourist residences.
Taking its name from the Roman "Vallis Curans" or "Valley of Healing", Valescure is a prestigious residential quarter set under magnificent umbrella pines in a beautiful green setting. Impressed by its temperate climate and beautiful pine trees, Lord Ashcomb built a golf course in this area situated on the hills bordering Saint-Raphal. A second course has now been built in Valescure, which is also home to many lovely villas, hotels and holiday homes.
